Editing Transcripts & Frames
Fine-tune your video's narrative and timing
Once your video is generated, you might want to tweak the spoken script, adjust how text appears on screen, or refine the timing of specific slides. The Video Editor allows you to edit both the transcript and the visual frames (slides) to perfect your story.
In this editor, "Frames" are referred to as Slides. Each slide represents a specific segment of your video with its own media, text, and duration.
Editing the Transcript
The Transcript tab is where you modify the actual words spoken in the video and displayed as captions. This is distinct from the visual text on the slide, although they are often linked.
Correcting Words
To fix typos or misheard words:
Go to the Transcript tab in the sidebar.
Click on any word to open the Correction Menu.
Type the correct word in the input field.
The change will automatically update both the spoken script (for the next generation) and the slide captions.
Confidence Indicators
The editor uses color-coding to show how confident the AI is about the transcription of each word. This helps you quickly spot potential errors.
Red (Wavy Underline): Low confidence (< 20%). You should definitely check these.
Yellow (Wavy Underline): Medium confidence (20% - 50%). Worth a quick review.
Orange (Background): High confidence (50% - 90%), but might still need a look.
No Highlight: Very high confidence (> 90%).
Moving Words Between Slides
Sometimes a sentence is split awkwardly between two slides. You can move words to adjust the flow:
Click on the word you want to move.
In the menu, select Move to Previous or Move to Next.
The word will shift to the adjacent slide, adjusting the timing automatically.
Managing Frames (Slides)
You can add, remove, or combine slides to change the visual pacing of your video.
Adding and Deleting Slides
Add a Slide: Hover between two slides in the timeline or sidebar and click the circular + button.
Delete a Slide: Select the slide and click the Trash icon. You can also select multiple slides and delete them at once.
Splitting and Merging Slides
You can quickly restructure your content using keyboard shortcuts:
Split a Slide: Place your cursor in the text where you want the split to happen and press Enter. This creates a new slide with the remaining text.
Merge with Previous: Place your cursor at the very beginning of a slide's text and press Backspace. This combines the current slide with the one before it.
Tip: To add a simple line break inside the same slide without splitting it, press Shift + Enter.
Sync Warnings & Preservation
Your video's audio and visual elements are tightly synchronized. Making manual changes to the structure can sometimes break this sync.
Duration Warnings
Slide durations are automatically calculated based on the length of the spoken text. If you try to manually change a slide's duration (e.g., by dragging the handle), you might see a warning:
"Warning: changing duration will un-sync it."
If you proceed, the slide will be "unlocked" (indicated by an open lock icon), meaning its timing is no longer tied to the voiceover. This can lead to silence or cut-off audio.
Fixing Sync Issues
If you see a warning that your project is out of sync (often after adding/deleting slides or changing text significantly), you have two main options:
Regenerate Voice: Go to the Audio tab and regenerate the voiceover. This creates a new audio track that perfectly matches your new slide structure.
Use the Transcript Editor: Manually move words between slides to realign the text with the existing audio, though this is more advanced.
Important: If you see the message "Script updated. Consider re-generating voice," it is highly recommended to regenerate the audio to ensure your video sounds natural.
Reordering Slides
The sequence of your slides is determined by the flow of your script. To reorder the content of your video, it is best to move the text itself or use the Split and Merge tools to restructure the narrative.
For example, if you want to move a point earlier in the video, you can cut the text from a later slide and paste it into an earlier one, or create a new slide in the desired position and add the content there.
