Create lifelike video avatars from text or swap faces in existing videos
Revid AI offers powerful tools to create engaging video content using AI-generated avatars and face-swapping technology. Whether you want to create a professional spokesperson video from text or add a fun twist to existing footage, these tools make it simple.
This guide covers how to create talking avatars, use the face swap feature, customize voices, and upload your own custom avatars.
Note: Generating AI avatar videos and using face swap requires credits. The cost varies based on the video length, quality settings, and advanced features used.
Creating AI Talking Avatars
The AI Talking Avatar tool allows you to turn any text script into a video of a lifelike character speaking your words with realistic lip-syncing.
Step-by-Step Guide
Navigate to the Create page and select the AI Talking Avatar tool.
Enter your script: Type the text you want the avatar to speak in the "Your Video Script" box.
Alternatively, paste a URL (like a blog post or tweet) to have AI generate a script for you.
Select a voice: Click on the voice selector to choose from over 124+ AI voices. You can filter by gender, age, accent, and use case.
Choose an avatar:
Browse the default library (Fantasy, Celebrities, Misc).
Or upload your own image/video in the "Select Avatar Source" section.
Customize settings:
Add background music from the library or upload your own.
Select the screen ratio (e.g., 9:16 for TikTok/Reels, 16:9 for YouTube).
Click Generate video to start the creation process.
Processing typically takes 2-5 minutes. Once complete, you can download the video or edit it further.
Using Face Swap
The Face Swap tool lets you replace a face in an existing video with another face of your choice.
Step-by-Step Guide
Go to the Face Swap tool from the main dashboard.
Upload the Source Face: Upload a clear, front-facing image of the face you want to insert into the video.
Upload the Target Video: Upload the video file where you want the face to be replaced.
Adjust settings (optional): Configure face detection sensitivity and motion smoothing if available.
Click Generate to process the video.
Best Practice: For the best results, use a source image with good lighting where the face is clearly visible and looking directly at the camera. Avoid images with heavy shadows or obstructions (like glasses or hair covering the face).
Voice Synthesis & Customization
Revid AI integrates with ElevenLabs to provide high-quality voice synthesis. You can customize how your avatar speaks to match the tone of your content.
Selecting a Voice
When creating an avatar video, you have access to a vast library of voices:
Filters: Use filters to find the perfect match by Language (100+ supported), Gender, Age, Accent, and Use Case (e.g., News, Narration, Social Media).
Preview: Click the play button next to any voice to hear a sample before selecting it.
Advanced Voice Controls
You can fine-tune the delivery of your script:
Speed: Adjust the speaking rate to be faster or slower.
Pauses: Insert pauses in your script using the
<break time="1.0s" />tag (replace "1.0s" with your desired duration) to create natural timing or dramatic effect.Stability: Adjust voice stability settings (Stable, Balanced, Expressive) to control the emotional range.
Creating Custom Avatars
You aren't limited to the stock library—you can upload your own custom avatars to create unique content.
How to Upload a Custom Avatar
In the Avatar Picker, select the Custom tab.
Drag and drop your file or click to browse.
Supported formats: PNG, JPEG (images) and MP4 (videos).
Recommendation: For video avatars, use a landscape video of yourself, zoomed out, for the best output quality.
The system will automatically validate your upload against moderation policies.
Note: Public figures, celebrities, and inappropriate content may be rejected.
Once approved, your avatar will appear in your personal library and can be selected for any project.
Requirements: Avatar images and videos must be under 2048px in height/width. Ensure you have the rights to use any image or video you upload.
Tips for Best Results
Script Formatting: Use short sentences and proper punctuation. This helps the AI generate natural-sounding intonation.
Visual Notes: If you want to include notes in your script that should not be spoken (e.g., for your own reference), enclose them in brackets like
[this].Lighting: When uploading custom avatars or source faces for face swap, ensure the subject is well-lit and the features are distinct.
