Connecting Social Media Accounts

Overview

Connecting your social media accounts allows you to publish videos directly from the platform to TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. This integration streamlines your workflow by removing the need to download and re-upload content manually.

Note: We use a secure standard called OAuth to connect your accounts. This means we never see or store your passwords. You simply authorize the application to post on your behalf.

How to Connect

You can manage all your social media integrations from your account settings. Follow these steps to link a new account:

  1. Navigate to Account Settings in the main menu.

  2. Scroll down to the Social Accounts section.

  3. Locate the platform you want to connect (TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube).

  4. Click the Connect button next to the platform icon.

  5. You will be redirected to the social media platform's login page.

  6. Log in (if you aren't already) and click Authorize or Allow to grant permission.

  7. Once authorized, you will be automatically redirected back to your settings page, where the account will show as "Connected."

Platform-Specific Setup

Each platform has specific requirements to ensure successful publishing. Please review the details below for the networks you plan to use.

TikTok

Connecting TikTok is straightforward, but be aware of platform limits.

  • Post Limits: TikTok's API currently limits third-party publishing to 15 posts per 24 hours.

  • Account Type: Both Personal and Business accounts are supported.

Instagram

Instagram requires a specific account setup for third-party publishing to work.

Requirement: You must use an Instagram Business Account linked to a Facebook Page. Personal or Creator accounts may not support direct publishing via the API.

If you encounter issues connecting Instagram, check your Facebook Page settings to ensure the Instagram account is properly linked.

YouTube

YouTube connections allow for direct video uploads, but channel verification affects your capabilities.

  • Video Length: To upload videos longer than 15 minutes, your YouTube account must be verified.

  • Permissions: Ensure you grant "Manage your YouTube account" permissions during the OAuth flow so we can upload videos for you.

Token Management

The connection between our platform and your social media accounts relies on digital keys called OAuth tokens. These tokens allow us to publish content without needing your password.

Why Tokens Expire

For security reasons, social media platforms may expire these tokens over time. This can happen if:

  • You change your social media password.

  • It has been several months since you last connected.

  • The social platform updates its security policies.

How to Reconnect

If your posts are failing or you see a "Connection Error" message, your token has likely expired.

Quick Fix: Go back to Account Settings > Social Accounts and click the Reconnect button next to the affected platform. This will refresh your token without losing your data.
